Xbox February Update Brings Touch Controls To Remote Play

The Xbox February update is on the way, bringing new ways to play on your phone, more organizational tools, and other quality-of-life features.

You can now play Xbox games via remote play with touchscreen controls. These are the same controls as offered with Xbox Cloud Gaming. Most games support basic touch-control layouts. Over a hundred games support custom controls, including Psychonauts 2, Sea of Thieves, and Minecraft Dungeons.

In other control news, a new thumbstick calibration tool has been added to Xbox. You can use the tool to address minor thumbstick issues, like inconsistent responses. Bigger issues, like drift for example, cannot be fixed with this tool. You should also recalibrate your controller if you repair it yourself.

The "My Games And Apps" now has new filters and sorting options. You can now filter games by supported languages, and accessibility/technical features, like touch controls. In the subscriptions tab, you can now sort games by "recently added," making it easier to find out what was just added to Game Pass or EA Play.

Additionally, a new "restrict access" option has been added to assist-share consoles in hospitals. This options allows profiles to be deleted on sign-out, making it easier for the console to be wheeled between rooms.

As for other Xbox news, a new report has named the first two Xbox exclusives reportedly headed to PlayStation. A business update on Xbox is due to release on February 15.
