Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Joins Microsoft's Senior Leadership Team

Congratulations on a job well done!

I've probably said this before but MS should change Phil Spencer's job title to Xboss, Xbox boss sounds like a tongue twister.

This is good news!

Well-deserved... Compare his actions (actual platform improvements, not just words) to Mattrick's running trainwreckbortionfail before him. BillG's original vision (demands) for the platform were realized by Phil and Co: Living room PCs running Windows and DirectX, playing games w/other WinPCs. Not to forget incredible developer support, which (again) goes back to how things used to be.

Let's hope he retains that current job for some time.

I like Phil, he seems like a sound, down to Earth guy who just likes gaming. He's certainly more fan-friendly than Andrew House at Sony, not that I want to flame-bait, I just don't really have another opposite number to compare him to.

He should have been in charge when the Xbox One launched. Maybe this gen's "console war" would have been closer, instead of the slaughter that it initially was. Spencer has done a lot to turn things around.

Joining the Senior Leadership Team has many benefits like sitting in 4 hour meetings looking at pie charts, attending Metallica concerts, and coming up with product ideas that the general public doesn't really care about.

He definitely deserves it.

Phil Spencer should be in charge of every XBOX console release from here on out...

Good for him, he deserves it, Xbox was going downhill fast because of that jackass Mattrick.

I feel better about xbox with phil in charge. Gaming needs manchildren running things and not soulless corporate executives that only listen to sports radio and have their bonuses already planned out.

That's awesome. Good for him. Phil Spencer is a cool dude that seems to truly care about video games.

Spencer saved the Xbox brand. He deserves all the promotions and bonuses they can throw his way. Just make sure he spends most of his time still working on making Xbox better and better.

Xbox will die with out Phil Spencer, Xbox 360 was a closed eccosystem that didn't need alot of attention, xbone needed a visionary that it did not have.

Pretty strange how phills climbing the ladder now.
