The fan-favorite WWE Superstar gave fans an update on his neck healing.

On the March 11 episode of Smackdown, the New Day was booked to take on the team of Sheamus and Ridge Holland. However, during the match, Holland performed a belly-to-belly suplex on Big E, but Big E landed wrong and was carried on a stretcher out of the building.

Big E went on to announce that he had broken his neck, but is hopeful about the healing process since then.

The former WWE Champion, real name Ettore Ewen, has been open with updates and recently tweeted out some fairly bad news about his recovery.

The C1 vertebrae is the section of the spinal cord that controls and aids the head with moving in different directions, as well as handles the skull's weight on the neck. Big E is still trying to avoid a spinal fusion which would severely cut his in-ring short. It's a procedure similar to what Edge and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin had, which cut their careers short initially but greatly improved their overall health.

WWE's next pay-per-view will be this Sunday as they present WWE Wrestlemania: Backlash. You can check out and follow along with our coverage of all the matches.
