WWE Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 Match Card, How To Watch, Start Time, And Predictions

Find out everything you need to know about the upcoming WWE PPV.

Comments

This Sunday, Wrestlemania Backlash is coming to Providence, Rhode Island. The May 8 PPV--which is happening on Mother's Day--will feature a few Mania 38 rematches with some extra stipulations, like people being barred from ringside or making your opponent yell "I Quit" in order to get the win. Here is everything you need to know about Wrestlemania Backlash from the start time to how to watch to predictions to the match card.

This year's event takes place at the Dunkin' Donuts Center (that's a real place). As of this writing, there are six matches on the card and only one of them is for a championship title. Ronda Rousey challenges Charlotte Flair for her Smackdown Women's Championship in a I Quit match, and if you're familiar with that type of match--in which you need to make your competitor scream "I quit"--they can be brutal.

Below, you can check out the start times for the Wrestlemania Backlash, and once again, British wrestling fans will have to stay up until early in the morning to check it out. But hey, at least you all get Summerslam this year.

Wrestlemania Backlash start time:

  • 8 PM ET
  • 7 PM CT
  • 5 PM PT
  • 1 AM BST (May 9)
  • 10 AM AEST (May 9)

How to watch:

In order to enjoy Wrestlemania Backlash, you can get it through your satellite or cable provider or watch it on the streaming service Peacock. And while it does have a free tier, you will not be able to watch the WWE event through that. You'll need a Premium ($5 a month, with ads) or Premium Plus Peacock ($10 a month, no ads) account. Regardless of which tier you choose, there will be a few WWE-related ads throughout the show.

There are multiple ways to watch Peacock. Aside from watching it on mobile devices and on the PC, you can stream the service on Amazon Fire devices, Android TV, Apple TV, LG Smart TVs, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xfinity, and more.

As for the match card, Cody Rhodes was Seth Rollins' big surprise opponent at Wrestlemania, which ended with Rhodes getting his redebut win in WWE. Now, Rollins will be prepared for Rhodes as the two battle again.

Originally, the tag match between The Usos and RK-Bro was going to be to unify the tag team titles--at least in storyline--however, that angle was dropped, and now, Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre are joining the fight to make it a six-man tag team match. Check out the up-to-date match card below, which we'll continue to update as the week progresses.

Match card:

  • Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins
  • Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ronda Rousey (I Quit Match for the Smackdown Women's Championship)
  • Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro vs. The Bloodline (Six-Man Tag Team Match)
  • AJ Styles vs. Edge
  • Bobby Lashley vs. Omos
  • Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss

Predictions:

As for predictions, GameSpot's Wrestle Buddies, Chris E. Hayner and Mat Elfring are back to discuss who they think will come out on top for Wrestlemania Backlash. In addition, they are joined by PredictionBot 3000--the sophisticated computer program with a love for Colin Firth--and per usual, things get weird. Check out the full episode below.

Make sure to come back to GameSpot on Sunday, May 8 for live coverage and a review of the PPV.
