Gamers who enjoy making sweaty men with no chest hair beat the tar out of each other with steel chairs can now do so in public. In a video game, at least.

THQ today announced that the retail arrival of WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 for the PSP is imminent. The company is hoping to deliver the definitive diminutive wrestling game experience, and has included many of the new features and gameplay mechanics found in its console cousin, WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 for the PlayStation 2.

The PSP edition includes new features from the PS2 edition of the game, like the general manager mode, bar brawl backstage area, and buried alive and fulfill your fantasy matches. It also includes three exclusive minigames and local wireless play for up to four players.

The PSP and PS2 games can even be synchronized so that season mode, created wrestlers, and unlocked WWE legends can be transferred from one system to the other at will. Hooking the two versions of the game together will also unlock WWE legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

As with previous installments of the SmackDown! series, development on the game was handled by Yuke's. The Japanese studio has built a lengthy rasslin' repertoire for itself, having also worked on Rumble Roses, WWE Day of Reckoning, and the upcoming Xbox 360 game Wrestle Kingdom.
