WoW: Dragonflight's Next Update Will Add Long-Awaited Forsaken And Night Elf Heritage Armor

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's next update will let Forsaken and Night Elf players battle through Azeroth in style, as their long-awaited Heritage Armor sets will finally debut.

Titled Fury Incarnate, the update will introduce Heritage Armor quest lines for Forsaken and Night Elf players, alongside new customization options for each race. Forsaken will be gaining five new skin colors, while Night Elves will be able to choose from new face and body tattoos. Blizzard has not yet revealed what the Night Elf set looks like, but the Forsaken one is appropriately undead, with spikes, skulls, and coffins aplenty.

Patch 10.1.7 will additionally introduce a new type of public event. Dreamsurges will see portals from the Emerald Dream spawn across the Dragon Isles, and players will have the option to battle rare creatures and event bosses to obtain powerful new gear from them.

New story quests will be coming alongside the update that will set the stage for the game's 10.2 update later this year, which considering the newly added public events and previously datamined clues, will likely set up players to journey to the Emerald Dream itself in the game's final major update for 2023. A series of quests that serve as an epilogue to the Bronze Dragonflight-focused events of the game's recent Fractures in Time update will also be added, as will a continuation of the game's ongoing Reforging of Tyr storyline. Blizzard said the Fury Incarnate update will be playable on the game's public test realm soon.

The addition of Night Elf and Forsaken Heritage armor means there are just a few of the game's races that don't yet have Heritage Armor sets: Trolls, Draenei, and Pandaren. Blizzard added Orc and Human Heritage Armor sets in patch 10.0.7.

Blizzard has so far stayed true to their initial 2023 content roadmap for WoW. In a recent interview with GameSpot, WoW game director Ion Hazzikostas said the more frequent updates have led to higher player retention and has granted the development team more flexibility. He additionally confirmed that WoW won't be offering the game's Trading Post currency as a standalone product available to purchase, but will likely offer it as part of expansion deluxe editions or certain shop bundles in the future.

WoW's Fractures in Time update arrived on July 11 and introduced a new megadungeon (which will be split into two Heroic dungeons come patch 10.1.7) alongside a new support-style DPS specialization for Evokers.
