Lionsgate Films has released an official red-band teaser trailer for The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent. The film is due in theaters in April 2022.

In what promises to be a peak Nicolas Cage movie, Cage plays a heightened version of himself as Nick Cage--a respected though washed-up and debt-saddled actor who gets mixed up with a drug kingpin and later becomes an informant for the CIA. Desperate for cash, Cage gets connected via Neil Patrick Harris to a Mexican billionaire, played by Pedro Pascal, for an appearance at his birthday party. But as he later learns, the billionaire may in fact be a major player in the cartel world who has kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee.

Cage said in an interview this summer that he "will never see this movie" because it was made "for the audience… it's too much for me to go to the premiere and sit there with everybody. Psychologically, that's too bizarre and whacked out for me."

Cage was recently cast as Dracula in the upcoming monster movie Renfield, alongside Nicolas Hoult as the titular henchman and Awkwafina. Cage also previously played a literary critic who believed he was a vampire in the 1989 horror-comedy Vampire's Kiss.

Cage is continuing to build momentum off the strongest reviews and buzz for many years, following his role in this year's acclaimed drama Pig. At age 57, the actor said in an interview this September that he will never retire.
