Actor Nicolas Cage is set to play a fictional version of himself in the movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, but he has no plans to ever watch the film. It would be too weird.

"I will never see this movie," Cage told Variety. "I'm told it's a good movie. I'm told people love it and are enjoying the ride, but I made that for the audience. It's too much for me to go to the premiere and sit there with everybody. Psychologically, that's too bizarre and whacked out for me."

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will be released on April 22, 2022.

Cage plays himself and gets mixed up with a drug kingpin and later becomes an informant for the CIA. In the movie, Cage is suffering through debt and a strained relationship with his daughter. To make some cash, Cage takes money from a Mexican billionaire, played by Pedro Pascal, for an appearance at his birthday party.

Cage becomes friends with the billionaire, but then a CIA operative played by Tiffany Haddish tells him that he's actually a drug cartel kingpin. Not only that, but this man kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee. The CIA then recruits Cage to become an informant.

Cage is getting paid big money for this new movie, as a report said he is expected to earn a payday in the range of what he was making for the National Treasure series and Con Air.

In other news, Cage confirmed that Amazon walked away from its Joe Exotic series, which was going to feature Cage in the title role. Cage can be seen next in the movie Pig, which is out now.
