The director of the upcoming Winnie the Pooh horror movie has confirmed that he wants to make a "twisted" horror universe with other childhood characters getting turned into monsters. After Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey releases on February 15, there could be many more films like it to come.

Rhys Frake-Waterfield told The Hollywood Reporter that one of these will be a Peter Pan movie featuring a "heavily obese" Tinkerbell who is recovering from drug use. Another movie is Bambi: The Reckoning, which depicts the lovable baby deer as a killing machine. If Frake-Waterfield's vision comes to life, we might see crossovers like Marvel does with its superhero characters.

"The idea is that we're going to try and imagine they're all in the same world, so we can have crossovers," he said. "People have been messaging saying they really want to see Bambi versus Pooh."

While Pooh, Bambi, and Peter Pan are related to Disney--but are now in the public domain--Frake-Waterfield said he has plans for other stories, too.

"There are many, many, many other ideas out there which aren't tied to Disney, loads of old fairytales and urban legends, concepts that are synonymous with your childhood, and they're the ones which I want to build up into a twisted alternative reality," he said.

In Blood and Honey, Craig David Dowsett and Chris Cordell star as humanoid versions of Pooh and Piglet. Christopher Robin, played by Nikolai Leon, leaves them behind when he goes off to college. Pooh and Piglet turn feral, returning to their animal roots, setting out to kill people for food. This childhood-ruining movie is getting a limited theatrical release in the US beginning February 15.
