@asmoddeuss: Better, and of course a little utopic, you should be able to vote only if you have all of the games nominated in your library. Only the most popular or most bought is the winner in almost any case for this kind of awards.

@RicanV: Exactly. How many other games do you know that are still getting official expansions 18 years after release? This game definitely should have won the award.

@RicanV: Same with Heroes of Might and Magic 3, but I guess it's not available on Steam so it wasn't nominated.

@spaced92: Clearly, most people just took this as a popularity contest and voted for whatever game they liked best in each group. Because why bother actually trying to figure out which game fits the description best, right?

@spaced92: Must be why the remaster sold millions of copies on both PS4 and X1. Hate the game all you want, everyone has their right to their own tastes, but you GOTTA give credits where it's due. A vast majority of people voted for Skyrim BECAUSE those who enjoys the game did for so long. Insane amount of stuff to do right from the vanilla game, DLC with a fair price and good amount additional content, infinite mods possibilities... What's generic or boring about Mods? Or maybe you just think it's cool to hate on Skyrim?

If they do that I think they might be onto something here (I'm curious to know what is the best sewer level in games). There are already half a million simple "Best games of this year" awards and as a result each year we have those some games advertised with "Winner of 48 GOTY awards!" which is just nonsense IMO. Like winning 8 Oscars or 12 gold medals but still being just one of the many "good" games

@ariyan-hm: please, do yourelf a favor and make sure you KNOW what you're talking about next time and avoid the embarassement of such a statement.

@ariyan-hm: And not to forget, games that are a decade old now.

I don't know the trick to get good at Meat Boy or Dark Souls on the other hand :P

@jkittleson: To be fair, those games were all better than most 2016 titles. Additionally, go back to the awards' rules and see how it never states anything about it being a "2016 games only" thing.
