Wildly Popular Suika Game Now Has English Support On Switch eShop

It also has a new Halloween theme.

Developer Aladdin X has added English language support for Suika Game after it gained popularity among livestreamers. It's also known as "Watermelon Game" and the developer added a Halloween theme to commemorate the English release.

Suika Game plays similarly to Sega's Puyo Puyo Tetris, in which you have to line up matching fruits to make them disappear before the basket overflows. The aspect that separates Suika Game apart from its contemporaries is that the melons have different sizes and instead of blocks, the melons' circular shape allows them to roll around in the basket.

It was the Japanese eShop's best-selling game in September 2023 due to its viral popularity among livestreamers, especially v-tubers. The game initially didn't support English language support, but it now does.

Suika Game was first released in 2021 in Japan, and it recently passed 2 million copies sold. It's very rare for a game to be brought back into the spotlight after time has passed, but it has happened. Fortnite became one of the biggest games in the world after it added its Battle Royale mode, and Among Us exploded in popularity in 2020 despite releasing in 2018.
