Wild West Online's Steam Release Date Set; Watch Its New Trailer

The PC MMO that looks like Red Dead Redemption is hitting Steam very soon.

Wild West Online, the PC "action MMO" that bears a resemblance to Red Dead Redemption, is finally launching in full soon. The game is currently available in an early access state through the title's website, but it will leave early access and also launch on Steam on May 10.

If you buy any of the early access editions on the game's website before launch, you'll get to play the game right now and receive a Steam code when it launches. You also get in-game extras like cosmetics for your characters and weapons. Additionally, you'll get to play the Steam version two days before everyone else.

No Caption Provided

Wild West Online starts off by letting you choose between two rival factions who are out to control the world. You'll fight alongside teammates to control territories and amass supplies. On top of the head-to-head battles, you can take on side missions and other activities. A new trailer released today (watch it above) shows gunfights and card games.

The game will also offer "major" public PvP events that trigger randomly and pay out rewards for those who participate. Also, since launching in early access last year, developer WWO Partners has added additional PvE quests and missions, along with more activities such as mining, farming, and hunting.

Wild West Online was originally announced for Kickstarter and Steam Early Access, but secured enough funding from private investors to skip that step and go right into development.

Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, meanwhile, comes out at the end of October for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
