Just prior to E3 comes the announcement that Sony Computer Entertainment of America has released Wild Arms 2. Continuing in the RPG format that made its predecessor successful, Wild Arms 2 spices up the graphics with fully rendered 3D worlds, dynamic real-time battles, a slew of new characters to choose from, and puzzles for the most experienced gamer. The storyline is accordingly epic. Players will delve into a world of fully fleshed-out characters, frantic fighting, complex action, and formidable magic spells. Ami Blaire, SCEA's director of product marketing says, "The all-new, 3D elements, engaging storyline, and intense gameplay" will make Wild Arms 2 one of the best RPGs of the year.

The camera is controllable, character animation has been increased since the original, and a help feature is available to give new players assistance with the workings of the game. Players travel through the mystical Filgaia as one of three "dream chasers," Ashley, Lilka, or Brad. As expected, each one has his or her own special techniques and fighting abilities to call on during the turn-based battles.
