come on, wii u is going to cost even more than the wii its a very bad idea, i give it a week

Nope it was Sakurai's wish to take out the competitive aspect of the game. It was he who threw slipping into the game. He has stated that he hates the concept of competition for Brawl.

@Jebril I'm sure casualizing Brawl came from Nintendo. Sakurai was the lead developer for Smash 64 and Melee after all. The casual s*** was the Wii's focus, it won't be the same again with the Wii U according to Ninty so let's wait and see.

Sakurai better not come to America cuz I'm sure a ton of Smashers would love to smash him for what he did to the Smash series with Brawl.

I want to see wolf link in the game. He would be faster but a little weaker in attacks and his Smash could be either he howls and summons the gold wolf and they do a barrage attack or he uses the charge attack with midna

I think that a great character would be King K. Rool, and he could change outfits to Kaptain K. Rool, or Baron K. Roolenstein...or maybe Klubba, the dude with the huge club, that would be sick

@Mikesta13 Wait, lol wut? No, no animu characters should ever be in Smash. The only one who could ever be accepted is Goku (there are more DB games on the Famicom and Super Famicom than on EVERY other console combined)

Hmm, at least this time they're announcing that this SSB will be years away and for us not to expect it anytime soon. I hated it when Brawl was announced to be released "soon" for like 3 years in E3. It was agonizing for someone like me who loved the series so much.

it would be nice to do your own character in super smash bros and choose a set of powers, faces and bodies to your brawler... but some things never happen...

i would love a new ssb, but i really think that they should do it for wii U. playing ssb in a portable can be good, but its better in a big TV. they should put some more characters of american fire emblem too...

Kid Icarus should of been done before they put it on blast at E3 last year. I seriously thought it was a launch title for 3ds, I dont regret getting a 3ds but had I known such a small amount of games was gonna be out at launch I would of waited for a price drop.......nice Cash Grab tactic Nintendo......

I'm more interested in playing a portable smash bros. It could have brawl graphics and the o.g. smash physics! :D

Why do we have to wait years for a new Smash just so Sakurai can take all his developing that crappy angel game no one gives a s*** about? "MEDUSA, U DAYZ OF LIGHT R NUMBERED PRPAR TO MEET LIGHT LOLOLO" oh yeah that's so epic and totally worth my time >_> Pit was g** in Brawl and he's still g** in his game. Just give Smash's development to another studio, Ninty... And what about a HD F-Zero, StarFox, Zelda, Mario, Metroid? Can't believe this system is coming out next year and there's zero announcements for these franchises. I'm just being realistic here by saying it's looking like the Wii all over again, despite Iwata's "deep&wider" PR talk. I swear if it's like the Wii again I'm officially giving up on Nintendo, they won't get me twice.

Id also love to see Ridley from Metroid as a character, maybe a Goron from the zelda universe (instead of king Dedede), a version of kirby from epic yarn and knuckles or tails instead of shadow (because Shadow would just be a clone of Sonic)

Not a big surprise really. The E3 press conference really didn't say that they had started on it yet. I'll try to just forget about this game until it has a release date.

guys i hate to burst ur bubble but they only mentioned smash bros in e3 to get us excited about them because they didnt offer much at e3. this game at the earliest would come out in 2014 earliest, theirs no way they can get earlier than that

ah, fantastic. I just love when game companies are all "Your favorite game has a new title coming out" then weeks later say "And by coming out, we mean, there will be a title, and we'll get to it... eventually, I think..." -_-; I'm not good with the "we have our whole team working on one game" stuff. I'd prefer they work on many things for a later uber-release date, instead of "Oh? Youre bored? Heres another 3d N64 reboot, now go away"

Just wait. We'll get a first look at it at next year's E3 anyway. Then they'll release it 2 years later.

@ShadowofSonic, as awesome as having Big Boss would be, if they kept Snake Big Boss wouldn't be much more than a clone, maybe other than using a knife and having older weapons, he wouldn't be a good character unless they got rid of Solid Snake. I think they should, however, use more songs from the series.

smash bros for me is the greatest offline multiplayer game ever!!!

i wanna see midna from twilight princess in there, shed be a perfect character for brawl using that giant hand on her head, magic, and use her final smash as using the fused shadow, also take out clones like wolf, dedede, the worst, the pokemon trainer copying every flipping character -.-

I cant wait to see the new 3rd party characters. I hope the go out of the box and add characters like Naruto, we'll see some real clones in this b**ch. Unfortunately I think we have to look forward to some missing characters once again.

It's to be expected but I wish we didn't have to wait "several" years for the next entry. I'm going to try to forget about the game until it's ready for launch so this way the wait doesn't kill me.

Im not sure if its mentioned here or the article about it on IGN but Sakurai, the director of the game, said by doing this, he didnt have the time to sit, lay out plans for the game, and oddly enough balance all the characters himself. If that is the case, hopefully they bring someone else on board to balance the characters for these games because Brawl had WAY TOO MANY clones. It was bad in Melee but Brawl just took it to the next level. Hopefully this causes him to reasses everything and bring in more fresh faces.

If this game hasnt even been started, they should not have announced it. People could have speculated but this is just bad. I like the trend of announcing games 1/2 years prior, not this 3/4/5 year crap. What do we gain from that?

I have spent over 150 hours on melee and over 100 hours on BRAWL. I still need 50 hours. TAKE UR TIME!

i hope megaman, zero, bass, protoman or anyone from the megaman universe from the original, X, or legends are in it. it would be insane and would make it much more worth the wait for me at least. i'd still get it weather megaman was not in it because i love ssb but i always hoped he'd make it into the games

So looking at nintendo's comments..Whats so wrong with being in an arms race??? I really hope that they really don't have that attitude. I really want to play Metriod, Zelda, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion, Star Fox, Kid Icarus, Mario, Mario Golf... GIVE ME THAT AND I WILL BOW TO NINTENDO!!!!!!!! PLEASE I MISS ALL THESE TITLES BECAUSE OF YOUR CONTROLLER!!!!!

@thekiller75 They took their sweet time with Brawl, including delays and changing the release date more than once and they still ruined it. Melee was accessible for newcomers, but included options for tournament level competition. Brawl completely removed everything that made melee a game that hardcore fighting fans could enjoy. I don't think it matters how long they take. They just need to acknowledge all the fans that played melee for so many years that they were able to achieve levels of skill that most don't. Those were the real fans of the game. Maybe this time around they'll get it right, but that's a long way down the road I guess.

Smash Bros. 3D should have a mode where you can play on any surface like your table or desk. Now THAT would be amazing.

Nintendo can take his time with this one, because I believe that not a single fan will have trouble waiting if the game is worth it when its released. But more importantly, shouldn't we start giving the guys at Nintendo some ideas for new characters?? I'd love to see Amaterasu from Okami as a guest, OR the Black Knight from Fire Emblem!

I have Melee and Brawl, but I would say I've played Melee more than Brawl.

Take all the time you need, i don't care how long it'll take as long as they dont push them selfs for an early release cuz they may screw the game
