Where Is Xur Today? (September 23-27) - Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide

Here's where you can find Xur this weekend and what the Agent of the Nine has for sale.

Comments

Like clockwork, Xur returns to the Solar System in Destiny 2 with a selection of Exotic and Legendary-class items that you can acquire from the Agent of the Nine. Here's where you can find Xur and what Exotics he's selling this week.

This week you can find Xur in the EDZ, in the Winding Cove area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Vigilance Wing. Hunters can pick up the Raiden Flux chest armor; Titans can grab the Aeon Safe gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Lunafaction Boots leg armor.

Xur Location

Head to the north end of Winding Cove in the EDZ to find Xur this week.
Head to the north end of Winding Cove in the EDZ to find Xur this week.

Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone in the EDZ to find Xur. When you get there, hop on your sparrow and head north, sticking to the left side of the area. When you go up the destroyed overpass, look for the bend to the right and make your way to the cliff wall ahead. You'll find a tunnel there that can take you up to the top of the cliff, where Xur waits beside a crashed Fallen dropship.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Friday (until Daylight Saving brings that forward by an hour in November). Bungie doesn't mark Xur's location on the in-game map, so it can be easy to miss him if you're not aware he exists. But he only comes to specific locations, of which now there are only three: the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Xur offers Vigilance Wing for his Exotic weapon this week, a great gun to take into the Crucible, especially if you're not a great PvP player and hoping to grow your skills. The pulse rifle packs an extra round in its burst as compared to other pulses, and gives you buffs when your allies are killed and when you're the last player on your fireteam, making it very handy in the Trials of Osiris. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram - 97 legendary shards
  • Vigilance Wing - 29 legendary shards
  • Raiden Flux - 23 legendary shards
  • Aeon Safe - 23 legendary shards
  • Lunafaction Boots - 23 legendary shards
  • Hawkmoon - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Dead Man's Tale - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Xenology quest - free
  • Legendary weapons and armor - 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Your option for Hawkmoon this week is one you can skip--it includes Hip-Fire Grip, which isn't a great addition for a gun that's all about landing precision shots. Dead Man's Tale is a little better, at least for PvE content, thanks to Fourth Time's the Charm, but this is also less than a god roll and thus a DMT you probably want to leave on the rack.

Xur's Legendary weapons include a few standouts from past seasons that you should pick up. The Seventh Seraph VY-7 submachine gun is a good pick for PvE especially, with Dragonfly, Fourth Time's the Charm, and a Stability Masterwork. The Ikelos_SMG_V1.0.2 SMG is also decent thanks to Dynamic Sway Reduction, Surrounded, and a Handling Masterwork. Both are Arc weapons, adding some great synergy with the recently released Arc 3.0 revamp. Finally, there's Gnawing Hunger, which remains among the best auto rifles in the game, with Zen Moment, Kill Clip, and a Stability Masterwork, making it a gun that'll do high damage and hit a lot of shots.

As for Legendary armor, Xur offers the Simulator set, which is Future War Cult faction gear from way back in the Warmind expansion. Below, we've detailed the armor pieces with high stats or good distribution, worthy of your consideration.

Vigilance Wing (Pulse Rifle)

Vigilance Wing is a standby for pulse rifle fans in the Crucible, thanks to its five-round burst.
Vigilance Wing is a standby for pulse rifle fans in the Crucible, thanks to its five-round burst.

If you're looking for a good weapon for PvP activities, Vigilance Wing is a great choice. The pulse rifle has good range and stability, while also firing five-round bursts, which is one more than the usual pulse burst. What's more, Vigilance Wing helps you stay alive when your teammates are killed. When a nearby ally falls, you gain health regeneration and faster movement speed, helping you to win the fight that cost your teammate their life. As the last member of your fireteam, you get better weapon performance and greatly increased recovery.

Raiden Flux (Hunter)

Boost your Arc Staff Super with Raiden Flux, helping it to last longer as you thrash enemies.
Boost your Arc Staff Super with Raiden Flux, helping it to last longer as you thrash enemies.

Raiden Flux is great for ripping through lots of enemies with your Arc Staff Super. Every time you make fast, successive attacks with the Super, it gains increased damage and lasts longer. That can help you tear through an entire team in the Crucible, but works even better when you've got a big room full of enemies to clear in PvE activities.

Aeon Safe (Titan)

The Aeon Exotics are great for synergizing with your fireteam and for generating Heavy ammo in tough content.
The Aeon Exotics are great for synergizing with your fireteam and for generating Heavy ammo in tough content.

The Aeon Exotics give both you and your teammates buffs, especially if you're all using Aeon gauntlets. The Exotic includes different unique mods you can add, which provide various benefits and stack when everyone is using a different mod. The most-used mod allows you to create Heavy ammo when using finishers on tough enemies, so having Aeon Safe in your collection is definitely a good idea.

Lunafaction Boots (Warlock)

Lunafaction Boots are great for Warlocks making heavy use of rifts, especially in higher-level content.
Lunafaction Boots are great for Warlocks making heavy use of rifts, especially in higher-level content.

Lunafaction Boots are another of those Exotics that every Warlock could have handy for tough content. The boots enhance your Rifts, buffing the reload speeds of anyone standing in them. They also make your Empowering rifts even better, enhancing the range at which your guns are effective while you're standing in them. The Exotic boots are great for giving your teammates an extra boost, so consider them for those activities when teamwork is at a premium.
