Where Is Xur Today? (May 20-24) - Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotic Items Guide

It's Xur's final visit for the Season of the Risen in Destiny 2--here's where to find him and what he's offering before the start of Season 17.

Update: Xur has departed for this weekend. Here's where you can find Xur and what Exotics he's selling for the weekend of May 27-31.

This is it: the last visit from Xur in Destiny 2 before the end of the Season of the Risen. That makes this a final chance to stock up on new Exotic and Legendary weapons and armor before the new season kicks off and raises the Power level caps, sending players back to grinding to get ready for high-level content. Here's where you can find Xur and what he's selling to help you prepare for the future, allowing you to get ready for Season 17 before it kicks off on May 24.

Head to the Watcher's Grave area of Nessus to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Telesto. Hunters can pick up Gemini Jester leg armor; Titans can grab the Actium War Rig chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Verity's Brow helmet.

Xur Location

Look for Xur at the north end of Watcher's Grave, atop the big pink tree.

Spawn in at the Watcher's Grave transmat zone to find Xur this week. When you arrive, hop on your sparrow and drive north toward the exit of the area. On your right will be a large tree with pink moss growing on it. Jump off the sparrow and climb up the big main branch of the tree to find Xur waiting on it.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

In a move that feels like it's tempting fate, Xur offers Telesto for his final visit of the Season of the Risen. Telesto is an excellent fusion rifle thanks to its sticky bolts that explode after a delay, but it also has a tendency to interact weirdly with Destiny 2 objectives and break all the time--not exactly the gun to put in everyone's hands immediately before new content is added to the game. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram - 97 legendary shards
  • Telesto - 29 legendary shards
  • Gemini Jester - 23 legendary shards
  • Actium War Rig- 23 legendary shards
  • Verity's Brow - 23 legendary shards
  • Hawkmoon - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Dead Man's Tale - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Xenology quest - free
  • Legendary weapons and armor - 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Alongside changes in his location, Xur's inventory also rotates weekly. That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

Telesto (Fusion Rifle)

It might break the game constantly, but Telesto is still a great fusion rifle you can get a lot of use out of, especially in the Crucible.
It might break the game constantly, but Telesto is still a great fusion rifle you can get a lot of use out of, especially in the Crucible.

Telesto is a fusion rifle that has been in the game a long time, but it's still a favorite. The powerful gun fires fusion projectiles that stick to surfaces or your targets, then explode a second or two later. That makes Telesto useful for setting traps for firing a burst into a group of Guardians, causing them to blow each other up. Multikills with the gun also automatically reload both your Kinetic and Energy weapons, making Telesto great as a secondary weapon for racking up a bunch of kills in PvE before switching back to your main gun.

Gemini Jester (Hunter)

Mess with your enemies with Gemini Jester, which disorients anyone standing too close when you use your dodge.
Mess with your enemies with Gemini Jester, which disorients anyone standing too close when you use your dodge.

Obfuscation and misinformation are major weapons in the Hunter arsenal, and Gemini Jester adds one to your toolkit. The leg armor enhances your dodge ability so that when you use it near enemies, it disorients them and temporarily takes away their radar. That can be extremely handy in frantic close-quarters battles, especially when paired with invisibility-minded builds. This Gemini Jester roll is a bit peculiar, as well, making it worth considering for builds that rely on a lot of Mobility and Intellect.

Actium War Rig (Titan)

Wade into the fray and keep firing with Actium War Rig.
Wade into the fray and keep firing with Actium War Rig.

Actium War Rig is designed to keep Titans in the fight for as long as possible, and it's a great Exotic to pair with an auto rifle or machine gun you really like. The Exotic keeps ammo flowing into your auto or machine gun from your reserves, cutting down on the moments when you have to stop firing to reload. It only works with those two types of guns, but if you're looking to lay down a steady supply of lead, this Exotic can help.

  • Resilience: 3

  • Discipline: 6

Verity's Brow (Warlock)

Verity's Brow lets you synergize your weapons and grenades to boost grenade damage and get your grenade energy back fast.
Verity's Brow lets you synergize your weapons and grenades to boost grenade damage and get your grenade energy back fast.

Verity's Brow is for grenade-chucking Warlocks. When you use a weapon with an elemental damage type that matches your subclass, kills with that weapon increase your grenade damage and grant you grenade energy. Your teammates benefit too--whenever you throw a grenade that's boosted by Verity's Brow, you boost your allies' grenade regeneration for a short period, allowing them to throw more grenades right along with you.

  • Mobility: 16
  • Resilience: 7

Xur's Hawkmoon offering this week features a very high Handling stat to go with the Eye of the Storm perk, which makes the gun more accurate and gives it even better Handling as your health gets lower. This isn't the premiere perk for the gun, especially in PvP, but if you'd like a fast Hawkmoon that gets more accurate as a fight goes on, this roll could work. As for Dead Man's Tale, Xur's version offers Outlaw and a decent Range stat. Outlaw can help the gun reload fast if you're hitting your precision shots and making kills, but there are definitely better perks to snag on this one that'll help you win more fights.

For Legendary weapons this week, Xur has a few decent options. The Eternal Blazon scout rifle Xur can be fun in PvP, featuring Killing Wind and Unrelenting, which give you big bonuses and healing as you kill Guardians in the Crucible, along with a Stability Masterwork. His Long Shadow sniper rifle packs Snapshot Sights and Explosive Payload with a Stability Masterwork, making it good for landing quick shots that will greatly flinch your targets if you don't kill them outright. Machine guns aren't really in the meta right now, but if you like them, the Seventh Seraph Saw with Auto-loading Holster, Vorpal Weapon, and a somewhat unnecessary Reload Masterwork can be good for cleaning up tougher enemies in PvE or mowing down the occasional Guardian in the Crucible.

You can grab the Holdfast armor set from Xur this week, from way back in the Season of Arrivals. Warlocks make out extremely well this week, with high stat rolls on the gauntlets, helmet, and leg armor this week (although the stat distributions won't make these must-gets, unfortunately). Look for decent rolls on gauntlets and chest armor for Titans, and on the gauntlets, chest armor, and helmet for Hunters.
