Where Is Xur Today? (May 12-16) Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide

With just over a week to go before Season of the Deep begins, Xur has returned for another weekend to offer a fresh selection of Exotic gear and Legendary-class arms. Now's a great time to see if Xur is offering any legacy Exotics in his lineup, as a substantial rework of these items will see many of them overhauled to be more functional and powerful. Here's where you can find Xur this weekend and what the Agent of the Nine has for sale.

This week you can find Xur in the EDZ, in the Winding Cove area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Crimson. Hunters can pick up The Bombardiers leg armor; Titans can grab the Ashen Wake gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Wings of Sacred Dawn armor.

Xur Location

Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone, then hop on your sparrow and go north. Take the collapsed overpass on the left and look for a cave near the bend in the road. Follow the tunnel through the cliff face to reach a higher ridge where a Fallen dropship has crashed; you'll find Xur waiting there.

Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 strikes or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but next season, you'll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers will also be increasing, as you'll be able to hold up to five up them at a time.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Exotic Armor

The Bombardiers

The Bombardiers are a Swiss-Army knife Exotic for Hunters, as these pants offer plenty of utility depending on the subclass you have equipped. The main ability of this armor is that dodging leaves behind a timed explosive that can wipe out weak enemies and leave a handy debuff on any survivors. Depending on your loadout, you'll be able to scorch, suppress, blind, slow, or sever targets with this Exotic. As for stats, you've got low resilience and strength, but high intellect and mobility that'll help with those nimble dodges.

Ashen Wake

Fusion grenades are some of the best explosives in Destiny 2 if you can survive long enough to see them detonate, but Ashen Wake essentially removes the timer from these abilities. Bring the Heat makes fusion grenades explode on impact, you'll throw them more quickly, and final blows with them will grant you grenade energy. With the right mods, you can turn your Titan into one heck of an explosive pitcher. This Exotic ties into the grenade theme with a very high discipline stat, which will help you regenerate your grenade energy even more quickly.

Wings of Sacred Dawn

A resplendent Exotic, Wings of Sacred Dawn has a very specific function that'll only kick in when you run with your Dawnblade subclass. Tome of Dawn will briefly suspend you in midair and improve your airborne effectiveness, but it's debatable just how useful this ability is for regular Destiny 2 action. When it comes to stats, the numbers are decently spread across the board, with recovery and intellect receiving the lion's share of points.

Exotic Weapons

Crimson

A brutal Exotic, Crimson is essentially a pulse rifle in a hand cannon frame. This weapon fires in three-round bursts and its Cruel Remedy perk will refill the chamber whenever you land precision kills. As an added bonus, kills will also heal you, making this a very useful Exotic for clearing out cannon fodder enemies.

Hawkmoon

This week's Hawkmoon roll is Opening Shot, a popular perk that improves accuracy and range on the opening shot of an attack. It usually pairs well with Heavy Grip's recoil control, which is available on this week's version of Hawkmoon.

Dead Man's Tale

Dead Man's Tale is rolling out with Subsistence this week, a handy perk that partially reloads the magazine from reserves after you defeat a target. It's great for both PvP and PvE, but there's not too much synergy with the other perks of Fitted Stock and Accurized Rounds here.
