Update: The weekly reset on July 22 means that Xur has departed Destiny 2's solar system for the week. Here's our rundown of where you can find Xur and what he's offering for the weekend of June 25-29.

Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer story continues to fire away on all cylinders. The season is quickly wearing on, which means Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes are about to join the list of high-level activities you can take on. That makes it a great time to get some new Exotics from Xur in preparation. Here's where you can find Xur and what he's offering.

Head to Nessus, to the Watcher's Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Jade Rabbit. Hunters can pick up the Mechaneer's Tricksleeves gauntlets; for Titans, there's the Synthoceps gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Transversive Steps leg armor.

Xur Location

Spawn in on Nessus's Watcher's Grave transmat zone, then hop on your sparrow and head north. You want to head to the far northern end of the area, past Caiatl's land tank. This section is dominated by a huge tree with pink moss growing on it. Climb up the tree and look for Xur standing on its big flat branch overlooking the area.

Xur returns to the solar system every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. The thing is, where he'll land isn't known until he actually arrives. Xur can hang out at one of several locations, including in the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ. Xur's inventory also changes each week, so it's worth revisiting him on the weekends for new weapons and rolls on Exotic armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur brings another old favorite as his weapon this week--The Jade Rabbit. The powerful scout rifle has great range and does bonus damage if you chain your hits with skillful marksmanship; it's a great Crucible gun and effective just about anywhere in the solar system. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • The Jade Rabbit -- 29 legendary shards
  • Mechaneer's Tricksleeves -- 23 legendary shards
  • Synthoceps -- 23 legendary shards
  • Transversive Steps -- 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest -- free

Each week, Xur offers one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armor: one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you can expect on each of his armor offerings, so if you're looking to fill out your collection or if you're hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have, it's worth visiting him. Xur also brings an Exotic Engram, which is guaranteed to drop something you don't already have, if there are Exotics missing from your collection on that particular character--but that doesn't include Exotics you have to earn through activities, including the new Exotic armors added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.

The Jade Rabbit (Scout Rifle)

The Jade Rabbit fires fast, hits hard, and stays on target. It's one of the better scout rifles in Destiny 2, and has remained so for years now. First, its accuracy and quick fire rate make very useful for nailing headshots, especially on opposing Guardians in the Crucible. If you're a good shot, though, you can get even more out of it--chaining body shots and then landing a head shot deals bonus damage, while returning ammo to the gun's magazine. So if you're good at hitting your targets, you can take down enemies even more quickly.

Mechaneer's Tricksleeves (Hunter)

Mechaneer's Tricksleeves make your sidearms all the mower powerful, especially under dire circumstances.

Hunters who rely on the quick ready speed of sidearms should give Mechaneer's Tricksleeves some thought as part of a build. The Exotic gauntlets make you move even faster when you pull sidearms, and increases their reload speed as well. What's more, swapping to a sidearm in an emergency when you're critically wounded increases the damage it does. If you're someone who likes sidearms as backup weapons, Mechaneer's Tricksleeves can make them very handy.

Synthoceps (Titan)

Synthoceps make it even easier for Titans to punch their way out of bad situations.

Titan melee strikes are already pretty devastating, especially in the tight confines of some Crucible maps. With Synthoceps, you get an added advantage when you're meleeing an enemy--your lunge range is increased, so you can land those heavy hits from further away. The Exotic also gives you additional melee and Super damage if you're surrounded, making it pretty useful in PvE situations for crowd-control, too. Note, however, that this is a pretty weak stat roll as far as Xur's offerings usually go, so if you've already got Synthoceps in your collection, you probably don't need this version.

Transversive Steps (Warlock)

Run faster to get yourself out of danger and reload more quickly to help with emergencies with Transversive Steps.

Count Transversive Steps among those go-to Warlock Exotics, particularly in the Crucible, if you don't have something more specific for your build. The boots increase your sprint speed, and after you've run for a bit, automatically reload your equipped weapon. That means that if you have to retreat in a hurry, Transversive Steps can help you get out of danger and regroup, and when you're back in the fight, you'll be ready. All that's pretty useful in PvP situations, so if you don't have a Warlock Exotic you need for a particular build, consider throwing these shoes on.
