Update: Xur has bailed for this weekend. Here's where you can find Xur and what Exotics he's selling for the weekend of July 8-12.

Xur has returned to the Solar System in Destiny 2, with a few things you're going to want to pick up--including a Falling Guillotine that's pretty close to a god roll, Exotics that will likely serve you well with the release of Arc 3.0, and some strong rolls on Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale for the Crucible. Here's where you can find Xur and what he's selling.

Now Playing: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Xur Location July 1, 2022

This week you can find Xur in the Nessus, in the Watcher's Grave area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Lord of Wolves. Hunters can pick up the Celestial Nighthawk helmet; Titans can grab An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Crown of Tempests helmet. Xur's Hawkmoon carries the Opening Shot perk, while his Dead Man's Tale packs Snapshot Sights.

Xur Location

Look for Xur standing on a branch of the big pink tree at the north end of Watcher's Grave.

To find Xur this week, spawn in at the Watcher's Grave transmat zone, then get on your sparrow and head north. Near the exit of the area, you'll find a tree with pink moss standing against the right side wall. Climb up onto its branches and you'll find Xur waiting for you.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Lord of Wolves is your Xur-offered weapon this week, a fun fusion rifle-shotgun marriage that can annihilate enemies at close range. The gun features two fire modes, allowing you to swap between a firey shotgun blast and a multi-shot, fusion-like burst. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram - 97 legendary shards
  • Lord of Wolves - 29 legendary shards
  • Celestial Nighthawk - 23 legendary shards
  • An Insurmountable Skullfort - 23 legendary shards
  • Crown of Tempests - 23 legendary shards
  • Hawkmoon - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Dead Man's Tale - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Xenology quest - free
  • Legendary weapons and armor - 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Alongside changes in his location, Xur's inventory also rotates weekly. That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

Xur brings a high-Handling Hawkmoon for your approval this weekend, featuring Opening Shot, a decent-enough perk for PvP uses. As Hawkmoons go, this is a solid Crucible option. This weekend's Dead Man's Tale brings Snapshot Sights, and as with Hawkmoon, it's a good perk for PvP--maybe not the best, but if you need one, this is a good option.

In the Legendary weapons department, if you don't have a Falling Guillotine, or you don't have one you particularly like, grab this one, as it's pretty much a god roll. With Whirlwind Blade, Relentless Strikes, and an Impact Masterwork, you can boost the sword's damage and regain ammo with regular strikes, then dish out big damage with your heavy attack. Xur's Deafening Whisper grenade launcher is also okay, featuring both Auto-loading Holster and Ambitious Assassin, although its Blast Radius Masterwork is rendered moot by its maxed-out Blast Radius stat. Not having to reload grenade launchers is always a plus for using them, and with this one, landing kills gets you extra shots when you do bother to reload it. And once again, Xur has a gun featuring the weird Accuracy Masterwork--the Cold Denial Auto Rifle, which packs Killing Wind and Multikill Clip. Pick it up for being a mutant.

Xur offers the BrayTech set from the Warmind expansion, which is a good pickup for transmog considerations, since it's not available to earn in the game anymore.

Lord of Wolves (Shotgun)

Rip apart enemies at close range with Lord of Wolves.
Rip apart enemies at close range with Lord of Wolves.

Lord of Wolves had a brief period of dominance in the Crucible, but it's still a deadly close-range gun that can cut apart foes with ease. The shotgun fires short-range blasts of Solar energy, but it becomes really deadly when you use its alternate-fire mode. This swaps the shotgun from a single small burst to a longer, multi-shot one, making Lord of Wolves feel more like a shotgun mixed with a fusion rifle. Land all those shots, and you're definitely going to leave your target hurting.

Celestial Nighthawk (Hunter)

No Caption Provided

A Hunter mainstay, this is an Exotic you should have in your collection, although Xur's stat roll this week may or may not play well with your build. The Exotic trades your normal Golden Gun Super for a single, powerful shot; coupled with Hunters' Golden Gun perks that provide precision damage, this is a great way to do a ton of damage to bosses in one blast. Keep this Exotic handy for raids and other high-level content when killing a boss fast is essential for you and your fireteam.

Keep yourself alive by punching your way through enemies while wearing An Insurmountable Skullfort.

An Insurmountable Skullfort is an Exotic you're probably going to want to keep in mind next season when Bungie releases its Arc 3.0 update. The helmet starts your health regeneration and restores melee energy whenever you get a kill with your Arc melee abilities. If that sounds like fun to you, consider grabbing this copy, since Xur's has decent Resilience and extremely good Strength stats.

Crown of Tempests (Warlock)

Lengthen your Stormtrance Super with Crown of Tempests and keep your Arc abilities sparking.

If you're running the Stormtrance Super, Crown of Tempests is often a must-have Exotic. It lengthens your Stormtrance Super whenever you get Arc ability kills--which means the more enemies you murder with "tickle fingers" lightning, the more enemies you can murder with lightning. All Arc abilities kills speed up the recharge rate of your Arc abilities even when you're not in your Super, though, which means Crown will likely be very useful once Arc 3.0 rolls around.
