When Is Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Next Event?

New events are coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Here's what events are coming up and/or ongoing.

Nature Day, May Day, and Museum Day have come and gone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The first events brought two new merchants to your island and a few bonuses that you can still learn more about in our Nature Day guide, though some things the holiday offered (like the bonus Nook Miles for special activities) are now over. The May Day event offered up a fun prize for completing a special May Day maze. But even if you missed these events, there are still more planned for the near future, as well.

You can see what other events Nintendo has planned for Animal Crossing: New Horizons through the month below, plus which new features and visitors they bring. Here's when each one starts and what we know about it so far. We'll update this list as more events are announced.

Now Playing: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nature Day, May Day, & More Explained

Nature Day (Ended)

  • Dates: April 23 - May 4

The one event we already knew was coming, thanks to a Nintendo Direct mini broadcast, was a celebration of Earth Day, which takes place a day earlier on April 22. Specific details and dates hadn't been shared previously except that Leif would return in some capacity. Nature Day began on April 23, and saw special Nook Miles+ objectives that involve planting trees, watering flowers, and taking advantage of a new feature--the ability to plant shrubs. The event officially ended on May 4.

May Day Tour (Ended)

  • Dates: May 1-7

During this week-long event, beginning May 1, players got a one-time ticket--the May Day Ticket--to head out on a May Day Tour from the airport. The location was different from the usual Mystery Tour deserted islands and included a hedge maze with a prize and a special cameo at the end. We talk more about the prize and the cameo in our May Day maze guide, but if you missed it, there's always next year!

International Museum Day (Ended)

  • Dates: May 18-31

The museum received an expansion for art as part of a New Horizons update that brings back returning character Redd, who now makes periodic appearances in the game. In May, there was a Stamp Rally event that equipped you with a stamp card that you could fill out by browsing the fish, insects, and fossils you've collected. Collecting stamps leads to a reward!

Wedding Season (Ongoing)

  • Dates: June 1-30

During June, you can visit Harv's island to encounter Reese and Cyrus, a married couple and another returning set of characters from the series' past. Given the photography-themed nature of Harv's island, you'll be decorating a studio and taking anniversary photos. Rewards include "wedding-themed items." (This wouldn't be the first time the game helped facilitate a wedding of some sort.)
