Netflix's Geeked Week has kicked off with the very first look at the upcoming Wednesday series. In the first video, we got our first look at Jenna Ortega (Scream, X) as Wednesday Addams.

The highly-anticipated series is a spin-off of the classic Addams Family TV series, focusing on the eldest child of the family, Wednesday. The short video also features Thing, a severed living hand, hanging out on Wednesday's shoulder. Check out the video for yourself below.

The live-action series comes from none other than Tim Burton (Big Fish), who is making his first foray into directing a TV series. The series and Burton's attachment to it was announced in early 2021, with the Batman director first teasing wanting to work on this series in late-2020. The first season of Wednesday will consist of eight episodes.

"The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy," reads the official synopsis from Netflix. "Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago--all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."

Outside of Ortega, Wednesday already has an impressive cast which includes Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago), Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Thora Birch (The Walking Dead), Riki Lindhome (Knives Out), Jamie McShane (Mank), and more. Al Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) will serve as showrunners and will executive produce alongside Burton, Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman for Glickmania, and Gail Berman.
