The Last Guardian comes out next week on PlayStation 4, but you don't have to wait until then to see more footage of the long-awaited adventure game. Sony's official Japanese PlayStation YouTube account has posted a video of the game's first nine minutes (via GameZone). If you want to go into the game with fresh eyes, it might be best to avoid the video.

You play as a young boy, and one of the game's first challenges is to set the bird-cat-dog creature Trico free of its chains. Once the beast is free, you'll move through the world together, using the creature's size and strength to advance through puzzles and the environment.

It's adorable to watch the interaction between the boy and the beast, while the music is a treat as well.

The Last Guardian comes out for PS4 on December 6. It's been a long time coming, as the game was announced at E3 2006. At the time, it was a PlayStation 3 title before it was re-announced for PS4 at E3 2015.

The Last Guardian was directed by Fumito Ueda, who previously worked on Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. It's among the 100-plus games that will be playable at PlayStation Experience this coming weekend.
