Watch Hearthstone's Special Announcement Event Right Here [UPDATE]

Tonight is the night we find out what the special announcement for Hearthstone is that Blizzard teased last week.

Lead game designer Ben Brode will be on the stream tonight at 11 PM PDT to share the news. That's 2 AM on the east coast--the strange timing is because this announcement comes as part of ChinaJoy, a conference taking place in Shanghai this week.

There's little indication of what we'll be hearing about beyond "what's next for Hearthstone." Last week, Blizzard described it as a "once-in-a-lifetime event" in an invite sent to GameSpot. A more recent post on the company's website promises it'll be a "special stream that's sure to delight, enthrall, and illuminate."

Hearthstone's last big update was the Whispers of the Old Gods expansion, which debuted earlier this year. As of April, the wildly successful card game had attracted 50 million players. More recently, Blizzard added a recruit-a-friend feature.
