Watch Bryan Cranston And Aaron Paul Revive Their Breaking Bad Characters For PopCorners' Super Bowl Commercial

Walter and Jesse are cooking up something a little different this time around.

Last month, it was announced that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul would once after their Breaking Bad finale and six months after Better Call Saul wrapped up to promote PopCorners in a Super Bowl commercial. Just before the big game on Sunday, February 12, Cranston posted the commercial showing the duo, but also joining them was Raymond Cruz, back as Tuco Salamanca. Check it out below.

They've posted some teasers leading up to the commercial, all directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gillian. Last week, it showed Walter and Jesse back in the RV, fighting over whether or not the engine is flooded.

"We are excited to revive one of the most famous television shows of all time to tell the PopCorners' story for the first time at the Super Bowl,” said Frito-Lay VP of marketing Rhasheda Boyd back in December. "We can't wait to see fans' reactions to who and what's coming."

Cranston spoke with Entertainment Weekly about how the ad series came together and if felt any different this time around since the show has long been finished.

"The people at PopCorners may have heard interviews about how much we enjoy working together, and I'm not sure how they conceived the idea. But once we heard the creative behind it and what they wanted to do, to really reestablish the authenticity of the characters, the wardrobe, the RV, and all that, we were intrigued," the actor said. "It's funny, after almost seven years of doing [Breaking Bad], we didn't have a lot of opportunities to just have fun, because of the intensity of the show. This was different because we had three days of just smiling and laughing and just enjoying each other's company and putting on these costumes that meant so much to us."

This is far from the first time an actor has reprised an iconic role for the sake of consumerism as Jeff Bridges donned the sweater and shades of the Dude back in 2019, and even Jim Carrey was once again Cable Guy Chip Douglas in a commercial for Verizon last year. Companies are putting big money behind these ads, too. The average price of a 30-second ad this year on Fox's broadcast was between $6 million and $7 million.
