Vacation holds strong

Electronic Arts' virtual-life game expansion The Sims: Vacation remained in first place on NPD Techworld's latest weekly list of best-selling games. The latest expansion to The Sims, the best-selling PC game of all time, has occupied the number-one spot since it was first released near the end of March. Dungeon Siege, Microsoft's fast-paced fantasy role-playing game, came in second place, followed by The Sims in third. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, LucasArts' Star Wars action game, remained in fourth place, while Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, EA's latest World War II shooter, stayed in fifth place.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Bethesda's ambitious role-playing game, debuted in seventh place after a partial week in stores. The game is a follow-up to Arena and Daggerfall, two of the company's previous role-playing games, and it features a huge, detailed fantasy world in which players can explore and adventure in any way they choose.
