German director Uwe Boll has never been a man to retain a quiet, dignified silence when criticised, and this time the fact that Postal is set to open this week on only four screens in the US has really got his goat.

Writing on the film's official Web site, he bashes President Bush, Michael Bay, and Hollywood's current output. Boll, disappointed that only a few cinemas in the US have agreed to show Postal, argues that his film is being boycotted by cinemas because of its controversial subject matter.

He writes, "To all of you writing now about me and the fact that Postal is not getting screens... It's fun kicking a guy nonstop who is on the ground. You are all not getting that I'm the guy who made it big against the big Hollywood system and you are all only busy to destroy me and finish me up... You want only movies like Jumper, Speed Racer, What Happens in Vegas? Then keep going and your dreams will be fulfilled."

Boll continues to say that he believes Postal shows "the big picture," which is that US President George W. Bush "used September 11 to start a war against a country that had nothing to do with Bin Laden... What happened in America in the last seven years is the biggest joke since Columbus stepped on that land."

Postal starts with two terrorists on September 11 about to fly a plane into the World Trade Center, when they start to suspect that there may not be enough virgins left in the afterlife for them to get their deal of 99 virgins each when they die. They decide to abandon the idea and fly to the Bahamas instead, but the passengers overpower them and it ends up hitting the World Trade Center anyway. It is based on the 2003 first-person shooter Postal.
