Baldur's Gate 3 is getting another massive patch soon and it's so big that it might be easier to reinstall the whole game. [Update: Patch notes for Baldur's Gate 3 update 5 are now available.]

While the patch will add just about 30GB to the total filesize, it will require 130GB free space to to install. If you don't have the space, Larian recommends uninstalling the game and then reinstalling the patched version.

As for the update's contents, Patch 5 will fix an issue from Patch 4 where constantly active acts of theft or violence would cause the game to slow down. It also will fix Asterion's little kisses. A patch this big will surely have lots more fixes and changes, but Larian has not elaborated on more. The developer has promised a community update outlining the features to come.

In other Baldur's Gate news, the game's Xbox version is set to release in December, and the official release date will drop during The Game Awards on December 7. The game will also get a physical deluxe edition, which will ship in the first quarter of 2024 and feature multiple discs. The edition will be restocked, so you don't have to worry about missing it. Players are also speedrunning the game's romances, setting world records in less than two minutes.
