UO: Second Age Speaks Your Language

SYSTRAN Software announced Monday a licensing agreement with Origin for use of its on-the-fly language translation software used with Origin's recently released Ultima Online: The Second Age.

The SYSTRAN technology allows the automatic translation of text between many different languages, taking into account grammatical structure and translation rules. The system included in the Second Age does translations between German, Japanese, and English, with more available online soon.

"This partnership proves that the need for translation runs deep and is becoming more and more important as millions of people use the Web for communication," said Laurent Pontegnier, SYSTRAN's director of Web business development. "SYSTRAN's translation engine can successfully integrate into many different applications and uses."
