Infogrames has announced that it plans to ship Unreal Tournament for the Sega Dreamcast to stores this week. The game lets up to eight players battle simultaneously online over SegaNet and supports the Dreamcast broadband adapter. Aside from the network multiplayer options, there is a split-screen mode for up to four players at once. Additionally, the game features more than 60 maps, several of which are exclusive to the Dreamcast version.

"Unreal Tournament is by far the best online action game available for the Dreamcast," Barbara Gleason, director of marketing for Infogrames' San Jose label, said. "With more than a million copies sold, the original game was a phenomenal success and has won many awards, including PC Game of the Year. Now, with added gameplay features and the online capabilities of the Dreamcast, console fans will get the opportunity to experience the same robust online gameplay that PC gamers have enjoyed."

Unreal Tournament for the Dreamcast carries a suggested retail price of $39.95 and will be available this week at retailers nationwide.
