Uncharted 4's Ending Will Have People Arguing, Director Says

Given the ominous-sounding title of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, many have wondered how the story will wrap up. While we'll have to wait until launch in May to find out, director Neil Druckmann has now said the game's ending will be divisive, based on what he's heard so far from test groups.

"I think people will discuss the ending. If focus tests are anything to go by, there will be some arguments about the ending," he told IGN. "I'm excited. Indifference would be the worst thing. I would rather have people hate it than be indifferent to it. We'll see how they react."

Asked directly if Nathan Drake would die at the end of A Thief's End, Druckmann said, "Do you really want me to tell you? You don't really want me to tell you."

Also in the interview, Druckmann said fans can expect A Thief's End to be "honest" to developer Naughty Dog.

"What I found is you kind of have to ignore other people," he said. "Any time you try to please something outside yourself, it can easily come off as false. Whenever we make something that's honest to us that is the game we truly want to play, you know whether you succeed or not."
