Uncharted 4 Free Update Adds Big Map, Makes All These Changes

Naughty Dog has heard your calls for more maps and released a new one today.

Naughty Dog has released new DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's multiplayer mode. Following the Lost Treasures expansion in July comes a new update today that introduces a map called New Devon.

One of the biggest piece of feedback since launch has been around maps; players want more of them, Naughty Dog's Scott Lowe said in a PlayStation Blog post.

Like all other Uncharted 4 multiplayer DLC maps, New Devon is free. It's inspired by the New Devon chapter of Uncharted 4's campaign, set in the ruins of a lost pirate colony. In terms of size, it's among the largest that Naughty Dog has ever made, featuring long sightlines for snipers as well as a series of corridors for up-close-and-personal combat.

This map comes to Uncharted 4 today as part of the game's 1.12 patch, which makes changes, improvements, and fixes. First, players can acquire relics now by completing and winning matches; previously, they had to complete challenges to do so. Additionally, DLC skins and pre-set outfits have been added to vanity chests, which gives players the ability unlock premium vanity items at a lower relic cost.

Starting on Friday, September, 2 Naughty Dog is launching an Uncharted 4 multiplayer sale, with all DLC relic chests marked down as much as 62 percent until Friday, September 16.

Uncharted 4's 1.12 update also makes changes to the game's ranked team deathmatch playlist and also introduces a new set of rewards for Ranked Season 2. There are new ranks added for Season 2, the highest of which has the best name: Master Bandanas. Additionally, there is more of an emphasis on individual performance, as the amount of bonus points you earn is based on your performance in a match compared to the average of your rank.

You can see all of the changes and tweaks for Uncharted 4's 1.12 update in the patch notes below, which were published on Uncharted's website.

Looking ahead, Naughty Dog will release the Bounty Hunters DLC for Uncharted 4's multiplayer mode in September. It comes with a new map and mode, as well as more personalization items.

There will be more DLC beyond that as well, including a co-op mode this fall. Take a look at the roadmap image below to get an idea for what's on the way. Additionally, Naughty Dog is working on the franchise's first single-player expansion, but there is no word on what story the expansion will tell or when it will come out.
