VR-1 seeks 5,000 players to participate in the second stage of its public beta test of UltraCorps, its "browser-based strategy game of galactic conquest."
VR-1 says it has implemented features suggested by players, features that include new combat units and upgrades, fleet automation, and improved fleet management.
The company says of this game: "Users do not need to download or install anything on their hard drives to play. Each turn (or cycle), players choose from a number of actions to perform (developing new technologies and weapons, dispatching fleets to conquer and colonize other planets, and turning their resources into the materials needed to expand and defend their growing empires). At the end of each 24-hour cycle, the computer calculates each player's actions and displays the outcomes."
More than 2,500 players participated in the game's initial beta test, said Mike Moniz, VR-1 president.
