Ubi Soft's Next-Generation Racer

Ubi Soft signs Jacque Villeneuve as the cover-boy for its new F1 racing game for the PS2, Xbox, and Dolphin.

Ubi Soft Entertainment announced that it is developing Villeneuve: Virtual Velocity for the Sony PlayStation 2, the Nintendo Dolphin, and the Microsoft Xbox. At a press conference on Tuesday the company confirmed that Jacque Villeneuve, the famed Formula One driver, will be involved with the sponsorship and development of this urban F1 racing game. Villeneuve will assist the production team in creating a true-to-life physics engine for the game, and in developing realistic handling and control mechanics.

Ubi Soft hopes to include extensive Internet features in the game, such as the ability to hold worldwide racing tournaments. However, the specific network options could not be confirmed at this time.
