THQ Nordic and Frozenbyte have announced Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, the latest chapter in the long-running puzzle platformer series. Once again set in a magical world where you'll guide three distinct heroes through 20 levels filled with traps and deadly obstacles, the game doesn't have a release date yet but it will launch for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Switch.

Trine 5 reunites Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight for their latest adventure, and like previous titles, you'll be able to play by yourself or with up to two friends in online and local co-op modes. Frozenbyte says that the game will include a skill quest system and new tactical multi-phase boss fights, while puzzles will feature plenty of replayability thanks to a mix of elements and dynamic physics.

The developer is also aiming to keep combat challenging as you fight against the Clockwork Knights and the Rat Gang, but if you'd prefer to have a more easygoing experience, Trine 5 will have adjustable settings for its action, puzzles, and character resurrection. On top of all that, there'll be a soundtrack that enhances each level's ambiance and includes a mix of old favorites and new tracks.

2019's Trine 4 was seen as a return to the roots of the series after 2015's Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power proved to be particularly divisive amongst fans of the series. Publisher THQ Nordic had another announcement this week, as the publisher announced that Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is being ported to Xbox One and PS4 on June 27. This version will only contain the game's single-player content and is priced at $30.
