Eidos Interactive today announced that Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico (previously known as Total Overdose and even more previously simply as Overdose), will be blasting its way into stores September 28. The game is being developed by Copenhagen-based studio Deadline Games for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC.

In the game, players go south of the border as Ram and Tommy Cruz, twin brothers on a quest to avenge their father's death. The game takes cues from the Grand Theft Auto franchise and Robert Rodriguez films, so gamers will be able to jack cars, mow down enemies with a variety of weapons, and roam the open-ended environments looking for trouble.

The tongue-in-cheek game will feature a variety of special moves, such as wall climbs, flips, and pirouettes with dual-wielded submachine guns. Gamers can also listen to a Latin-infused rock soundtrack while exploring various Mexican locations hunting unlockables.

Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico is currently rated M for Mature. The game has not yet been priced.
