Hollywood mega-stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are starring in Sony's long-awaited Uncharted movie, which finally has its first trailer. The two actors have now shed some additional light on the project in a behind-the-scenes video in which they talk about how the film will be "uncharted" in terms of doing things that have never been done before in an action movie.

"It's a massive globe-trotting adventure," Wahlberg says, with Holland teasing that the movie will feature "some pretty insane stunts. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime with Uncharted."

Zombieland and Venom director Ruben Fleischer made the Uncharted movie. Naughty Dog said in a blog post that Fleischer informed the studio that the movie is being made for hardware fans of the game and newcomers who aren't familiar with the series.

Already we can see evidence of this, as the first trailer featured what looks like a remake of the cargo plane scene from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, among other nods to the games.

The Uncharted movie, which also stars Antonio Banderas and Tati Gabrielle, releases in theaters in February 2022. It's been a very long time coming, as Sony has been working on the film for a decade, with numerous different writers, directors, and actors coming aboard and dropping out over the years.

As for Tom Holland, he'll be seen next in this December's Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In terms of the game franchise, the next release is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC in 2022. It includes updated versions of Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
