The Masters kicked off earlier today at Augusta National, and for the first time in months, Tiger Woods is in the headlines for his golf, not his personal life. At the end of the first round, Champions Tour rookie Fred Couples leads the field at 6-under, and five golfers are tied for second: Tom Watson, Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood, K.J. Choi, and Y.E. Yang, all of whom shot 5-under 67 in the opening round.

We've got more than a few golf fans on staff here at GameSpot, and we're all keeping an eye on the Masters (you can too, by checking out live coverage over at CBS Sports). To celebrate this great week on the golfing calendar, we spent part of yesterday chatting with EA Sports' Eric Busch about the Wii version of the publisher's upcoming Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. If you've seen our previous coverage of Tiger for the Wii, you know that last year's game was a hidden gem, with a ton of courses (more than any other version of Tiger, it should be noted) and a swing mechanic that, thanks to the Wii Remote, felt closer to the real thing than I initially expected.

For this year's game, the EA Tiburon team has attempted to refine the swing mechanics with the addition of swing plane and club contact analysis coming into play. The game will also have more online options than ever before. Four players will be able to play simultaneously this year, and there will also be online team play featuring different game styles, like match play, alternate shot, and four ball. The game will feature 28 courses, including Celtic Manor, the home of the 2010 Ryder Cup. Finally, there will also be disc golf (aka Frisbee golf), which will also be playable online.
