This New Fortnite Skin May Look Like An Overwatch Collaboration, But It's Not

The new skin may wear white and have golden wings, but she's no Mercy.

There's an awfully familiar-looking skin coming to Fortnite. But even with the similarities, Overwatch's Mercy is not bringing her healing powers to the popular battle royale game.

A new teaser image for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 showcases a new skin of someone with golden angelic wings who's wearing white. In addition, she sports a short, white haircut, though doesn't have a halo on top of her head like Mercy. The Fortnite skin--which presumably will be part of the upcoming battle pass--is arriving in Myths and Mortals, the new Fortnite season that will seemingly feature the power of the gods as weapons on the island. For instance, a teaser video shows Brite Bomber handling the lightning bolt of Zeus. That means that, despite the similarities to the Overwatch hero, this new skin isn't of Mercy. Oddly enough, this isn't the first time fans have thought a Mercy skin is coming to Fortnite--previously, people noted similarities between Mercy and the Ark skin.

For more, check out everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. It will go live tomorrow, March 8. It's currently unknown what collaborations next season will bring to Fortnite. Chapter 5 Season 1 has seen the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles come out of their shells, along with Shredder. Last month, a leak pointed to an Avatar: The Last Airbender event being on the horizon.

Meanwhile, Overwatch 2 is getting its own collaboration with Cowboy Bebop skins coming next week.
