These Five Christopher Nolan Movies Are Coming Back To Theaters For $5 Each

Regal Cinemas has announced that five of director Christopher Nolan's movies are returning to theaters this year, and as a nice treat, tickets are only $5.

The five movies coming back to cinemas are some of Nolan's best and most beloved from his filmmaking career. As reported by Collider, the first is Nolan's second Batman movie, The Dark Knight, which features Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as Joker.

Ledger earned a posthumous Academy Award for the film, which is regarded by many to be the best of the three Batman films that Nolan made. It recently came to light that Nolan wasn't initially excited about making a follow-up to Batman Begins until his brother Jonathan--who wrote one of the movie's most famous lines--convinced him to do it.

Nolan's dream-within-a-dream movie Inception is also coming back to theaters. The sci-fi movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Elliot Page, and many continue to debate the film's mysterious and ambiguous ending.

The psychological thriller Insomnia, a remake of an earlier Norwegian film starring Stellan Skarsgard, is another Nolan movie returning to theaters. The movie is unique in that it's the only one in Nolan's career that he didn't write or co-write. Starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Hilary Swank, the movie tells the story of a Los Angeles police detective sent to Alaska to solve a crime before things go entirely off the rails. Oh, and because of the time of year, the sun never goes down.

Nolan's World War 2 movie Dunkirk--which stars Barry Keoghan, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Harry Styles--is also coming back to theaters. It's regarded as one of Nolan's most critically acclaimed films, and Nolan himself was nominated for his first Academy Award for it.

Finally, Nolan's sprawling sci-fi movie Interstellar comes back to theaters as part of this campaign. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey as an astronaut who goes on a dangerous mission where time moves much more quickly back on Earth, and this leads to a number of issues. The movie delves into theoretical astrophysics, and it generally does a good job at making it relatively easy to understand complex scientific topics. Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway also star in the movie.

All five of these movies are returning to Regal theaters this month as part of the Regal Forever Favorites campaign. As mentioned, tickets for these movies are only $5.

Nolan's latest movie, Oppenheimer, enjoyed great success at the box office and at the Oscars, where it won seven Academy Awards. Nolan's brother, Jonathan, is the executive producer on Prime Video's Fallout TV series, which premieres today, April 10.
