Electronic Arts has announced that its latest virtual-life game expansion, The Sims: Hot Date, has gone gold and will ship to stores later this month. The game is the third add-on to The Sims, the top-selling game of 2000 and one of the best-selling games this year. Hot Date lets players take their sims on dates with other sims. The expansion pack adds a new downtown area where sims can meet and enjoy a variety of activities, such as going to restaurants, going to the park, shopping for clothes, dancing, and going to the beach.

The Sims: House Party, both of which regularly place in the top ten on the PC game sales charts.

The Sims: Hot Date was developed by Maxis, the studio that created the original game, and it will ship to stores on November 13 with an approximate retail price of $29.99. For more information, take a look at our in-depth preview of the expansion.
