The New Fast & Furious Game Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer, Out This Summer

The favorite film series of dads everywhere will soon get a new game, made by the same studio that brought you Project CARS.

Comments

If you appreciate cars veering, vrooming, and smashing into each other in the Fast & Furious film franchise, the new game from Slightly Mad Studios might be for you. The first video game entry in the series since 2013's poorly-received Fast & Furious: Showdown, the newly-announced Fast & Furious: Crossroads focuses more on the heisty side of things, which has been the direction of the films for around a decade now.

Judging from this first gameplay trailer, players will step behind the wheel as franchise favorites like Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez in order to perform high-octane stunts ripped from the films, rather than the more traditional racing of previous Fast & Furious games. Publisher Bandai Namco also announced that the game will have some sort of three-way multiplayer mode, but details are scant on that front for now.

Now Playing: Fast & Furious Crossroads - Official Gameplay Trailer

Crossroads will come to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on August 7. While the Fast & Furious films have achieved a notable level of success at the box office, it's fair to say that the series' game adaptations have mostly underdelivered, with the possible exception of the beloved F&F arcade game. Still, considering Slightly Mad Studio's pedigree with Project Cars, Crossroads might be worth a look.
