A first teaser for the reboot of The Mummy has arrived. A full trailer is released on Sunday, but ahead of that we have a short promo of the Tom Cruise-starring monster movie. Check it out below:

The Mummy is set for a June 2017 release, and is directed by Alex Kurtzman, who co-wrote the first two Star Trek movies in the current reboot series. It also stars Annabelle Wallis (X-Men: First Class), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), and Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), while Russell Crowe is set to make an appearance as Dr Jekyll.

The Mummy will be the first of Universal's classic monster movie franchise. While it is the only film so far in this connected universe to be officially announced, we know that a Van Helsing movie is in development, and Crowe is expected to return for a standalone Jekyll and Hyde film.

It has also been reported that Johnny Depp could star in The Invisible Man. Other names that are reportedly in consideration for roles in the series are Dwayne Johnson and Javier Bardem, to play the Wolfman and Doctor Frankenstein respectively. Universal has scheduled further films for April 2018 and February 2019.

The Mummy hits theaters on June 9, 2017. Check out the poster for the film below:
