As part of Nintendo's consolidated financial highlights, the company also revealed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 6.79 million copies for fiscal year 2024 (April 1-December 31, 2023) alone. That puts the game at 60.58 million copies sold lifetime, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains the best-selling Switch title of all time.

Another notable Switch exclusive to point out is Pikmin 4, which sold 3.33 million units. Previously, Pikmin series creator Shigeru Miyamoto had theorized why the franchise wasn't a massive sales hit.

Looking ahead, Switch has a chance to dethrone PS2 as the best-selling console of all time in 2025.
