HBO's The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin has celebrated the success of the video game adaptation by getting a tattoo of Ellie's switchblade.

In a recent Instagram post, Mazin revealed his brand-new tattoo dedicated to The Last of Us. The image shows his forearm with a realistically inked copy of Ellie's switchblade that is near-identical to the one featured in both the game and the HBO series.

"Early on when we were shooting The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann and I took an oath: if the show was well-received, we would each get a tattoo of Ellie's switchblade," Mazin explained. "Today, I fulfilled my oath, thanks to tattooist_yeono... I mean, LOOK at this thing! The detail! The shading! The ALL of it!"

Mazin then challenged Druckmann to finally get his matching tattoo, saying, "...You're up!" Druckmann has yet to share if he has, or plans on, getting the same switchblade now that the Mazin has held up his end of the oath.

Several people who worked on the series have also commented on the showrunner's post and praised the tattoo, with actor Pedro Pascal--who plays Joel Miller in the series--saying, "Hot."

Episode 6, titled "Kin", aired this past Sunday and fans believe they've spotted a familiar character from The Last of Us Part 2.
