The Last of Us' Dark Tone Won't Influence Uncharted 4, Naughty Dog Says

Can't wait for the first uncharted on PS4. I'm usually not the biggest fan of franchises going on for too long, but uncharted hasn't lost any of its appeal and I can't see that happening anytime soon.

I hope the formula of promising all sorts AI improvements and then not delivering and slapping "over 200 GOTY awards" on the box won't be the tone of UC4.

Good to hear. The teaser was pretty dark feeling, but I'm very excited! Uncharted is the best!

I hope the formula gets an update. Uncharted 3 started feeling a bit stale.

Both of those games have a too much serious tone for my taste; Jak and Daxter is still my favorite game of ND.

Only thing being affected will be the frame rate.

I sincerely hope Tom McShea does the review for this.

@Monsterkillah Well, not old age. But he's probably in his mid 30s by now. Perhaps approaching 40. He depends on his reflexes and agility.

Can't speak for Snake since i didn't play MGS, but wasn't it because of nanomachines? Besides, i do know MGS is..........well, crazy is an understatement.

Thank Christ. TLOU was nice, but the game mechanics that where taken from Uncharted work better with.................Uncharted. I also hope this is the last game. Seems like the perfect time to retire Drake with a big final bang. He is getting old after all

The sections in Uncharted 1 where you go to the abandoned N a z i bunkers and inside the submarine were pretty dark. Those are bits I remember most from any uncharted game.

This game better not involve zombies and teenage lesbians like in TLOU.

How is that newsworthy? They made platformers, kart racers and party games, I'm pretty sure they can handle 3rd person shooter with serious tone and 3rd person shooter with a little less serious tone

Umm lots of studios make different games at the same time or one after another.

Why is this news? The naughty dog hate/jealousy now thinks they can only make one type of game from now on?

We need weekly updates if a programmer moves on from them to another company or project out of a staff of probably 200 or so and imply that never happens in this industry so the impression something is wrong is left.

If Sony released a remastered version of the entire Uncharted Trilogy on the PS4 I will happily get it on day one. Having been a console gamer the last gen focusing primarily on 360, theres absolutely no title I played on the 360 which looked even a quarter as good as Uncharted 2.

So, which non-American people will Drake be massacring this time?

@SultaN-s @simsumre I don't get why some people see taking influence from others as a bad thing. Uncharted clearly took influence from TR, but the new TR obviously took things from Uncharted. None of this is a bad thing unless they're straight up taking resources. Would it be better if no one ever took inspiration from Doom, Final Fantasy, Super Mario etc. that also most likely had something as reference.

@SultaN-s @simsumre What you say? tomb raider is around since 1998 , many companies copied that style into their own games, and uncharted is just another influence clone with male as main character.

And tomb raider reboot is masterpiece and it's not exclusive also.

All I have to say to Naughty Dog regarding Uncharted 4 is: Shut up and take my money!

I want the new Uncharted to be less linear and ...shoot-y.

Uncharted 4: Directed by the two most depressed individuals in the gaming industry.

Naughty Dog is easily one of the top five developers. Congrats and look forward to the next game.
