The long-awaited sequel to 2017's War of the Planet of the Apes, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, arrives in theaters May 10 and will be released in regular theaters but also IMAX screens. 20th Century Studios has released a trailer that features an exclusive clip hyping up the IMAX release.

The trailer has Mae (Freya Allen) hiding from ape soldiers in a high grass before being rescued by young Noa (Owen Teague). You can check it out below.

The film takes place 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes and the era of Caesar. Ape society has evolved and thrived from the land where Caesar led them at the end of the last movie, but humans have devolved into a wild, dispersed, and oppressed civilization. When ape leader, Proximus Caesar (Kevin Durand), corrupts Caesar's original gospel and laws, he forges his own empire and enslaves other ape clans. That's where Noa, a common chimpanzee, leads the rebellion against the dictator.

Along with Allen, Teague, and Durand, the film stars Peter Macon (The Orville), William H. Macy (Fargo), Travis Jeffery (Preacher), Lydia Peckham (Netflix's Cowboy Bebop), Neil Sandilands (The 100), Eka Darville (Jessica Jones), newcomer Ras-Samuel Weld A'abzgi, Sara Wiseman (The Cult), and Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse).

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on May 10.
