Eidos Interactive has today announced that the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of The Italian Job have shipped to stores in North America. The game, which is inspired by Paramount Pictures' remake of the classic Michael Caine movie, allows players to relive key moments from the movie from behind the wheels of 11 different vehicles, including the new Mini Coopers that the thieves use to escape from Los Angeles in the movie.

"The Italian Job movie has proven to be a major summer blockbuster," said Renee Pletka, product manager at Eidos US. "We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Paramount to bring this film's high-octane, nonstop action to video game consoles."
