Netflix's adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski best-selling novels was a huge hit, even having the unofficial theme song "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher" topping the streaming charts. Henry Cavill takes up the sword once again to take on bigger monsters, political foes, and the role of mentor with Ciri (played by Freya Allan).

With the new trailer, we see some of the Witcher mutations take hold of Geralt, Yennefer definitely going through some things as well, and Jaskier returns, who is freed from prison. You can check out the full trailer below.

Season 1 consisted of eight episodes and was released on Netflix in its entirety on December 20, 2019. Those were based on The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, which are collections of short stories that act as a prequel of sorts to the main Witcher novels.

Season 2 will also consist of eight episodes and will hit the streaming service on December 17. From the look of it, this season will be based in part on Blood of Elves and The Time of Contempt. It was announced in September that it has already been renewed for a third season, which will definitely up the ante for Geralt and company.

Netflix's The Witcher stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Eamon Farren, Anya Chalotra, and Joey Batey.
