Now Playing: The Division Heartland: Closed Beta Community Update

"As executive producer, Julian Gerighty will oversee all The Division games and products, including Tom Clancy's The Division 3, led by Massive Entertainment who is actively building a team for the game," the press release states.

Gerighty's role will see him drive The Division franchise in a "unified direction" across multiple games, including the mobile game The Division Resurgence and the upcoming free-to-play entry in the series, The Division Heartland.

As for Massive Entertainment's Star Wars Outlaws, which Gerighty is currently working on, Ubisoft states that Gerighty will remain on the project until its launch. Star Wars Outlaws doesn't currently have a specific release date, but is scheduled to arrive sometime in 2024.

"Julian remains fully committed to making Star Wars Outlaws a success both for the development team and fans," the press release states. "He will remain on the project through launch to ensure the game meets the intended creative vision and provides a great experience for players."

Massive Entertainment is certainly busy. In addition to Star Wars Outlaws next year, Massive Entertainment's other open-world game based on a hit sci-fi property, Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora, is slated to arrive in December 2023.

As for what's next for The Division franchise, fans got a more in-depth look at The Division Heartland earlier this year, as Ubisoft detailed the various survival elements that set it apart from other entries in the series. A closed beta for The Division Heartland was held over the summer but the game does not yet have a release date. The Division Resurgence, meanwhile, is slated to arrive this fall, with the goal of "staying true" to the original The Division, albeit in mobile form.
