TGS: First Look at Planet DOB
TOKYO - Hudson takes a crack at the music genre with a quirky new title called Planet DOB for the PlayStation.
TOKYO - Music games are currently all the rage in Japan. Just browsing through Konami's music game-laden booth at TGS is a prime example no new Contras, no Castlevanias, just Bemani music games to the likes we've never seen. It's really amazing how popular the music genre has become here and with companies like Jaleco, Namco, and now Hudson all building Bemani titles, the popularity will surely stay on the rise. Hudson's new music title on display for the first time at the Tokyo Game Show was Planet DOB for the PlayStation. In this game you have to collect a certain amount of items and then you're allowed to remix your tunes. Sounds strange? Check out our first pictures of it by clicking on the thumbnail above.
The other Dreamcast pad that Ascii showed was a new arcade joystick called the Ascii Stick FT. Sporting a sleek curved look and a great blue color, this joystick looks pretty solid. The Ascii Stick FT is also set to release on November 25 and will cost 6,980 yen (US$66).
